Gamify

Introduction

Every parent knows the situation in which your child does not want to help doing household work but rather prefers to watch tv or play on its smartphone. But as a good parent you limit the amount of time your children spend on electronic media and you convince them to tidy their room and do the laundry as the whole family benefits from it.
Since children are not easily convincible they need a good reason and goals they can achieve and so the idea of gamify came up where gamification is used to encourage children to do their tasks. Though the concept can be used in other contexts, too.

Concept

Every child keeps an account of points. Points can be gained by performing certain tasks like doing the laundry or mowing the lawn and can be spent on fun stuff like watching tv. Every task has a value, similar to some kind of a price tag.
